Gojira Haiku!

First post of 2010! Let the second phase of THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOG begin! Is there a better way to begin phase two than by writing poetry celebrating what is, objectively speaking, the greatest science fiction monster movie of all time?

Don't you think a sombre, serious film exploring the repercussions of World War II and the atomic age deserves some light verse?

Isn't it time to show Tom Hanks and HBO who really knows how to terrorize the Japanese?

If you answered "yes" or "arigato" to any of these questions keep reading...Gojira Haiku!

Guitar at sundown

Wind and harmonica blows

Atomic fire burns

Rains at Odo Isle

Trilobite in the footprint

Both come with thunder

A train falls from teeth

Straight out of prehistory

In debris meadows

Miniature tanks;

Fireworks ineffective on

The reptile mountain

Man with the eye patch;

Oxygen destroyer works-

Bye Doc and Zilla

P.S. I did not know about this when I originally conceived this blog post. I thought I would be a pioneer in dai kaiju haiku but I thought wrong.
